Latest news in smallville Pontian, Johor. A new virus which causes high fever (similar to dengue) is spreading in Pontian. The virus so called (CHIKUNGUNYA) is basically a new version of virus delivered by Aedes mosquitoes.
Lately, many villagers from Penerok, Pontian, Rimba Terjun and nearby area have been infected by the virus. There were long queues in local hospital due to this fever.
SYMPTOMS: High fever, aching joints and muscle, weak, losing appetite, headache and feeling weak.
DURATION: Fever may take 3-7 days based on recorded cases. Patients will be feeling very weak.
CRITICAL CONDITIONS: None. Body will back to normal after taking some antibodies injections.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Do not expose yourself to mosquitoe bites. Wear long sleeves while working in kebun, ladang or farm.
